During the forecast period, the global Microfinance market is expected to grow by more than 11%. This is due to the increasing number of microenterprises, government efforts to promote microfinance and lower interest rates. The World Bank estimates that nearly 16 million low-income people in emerging economies, such as India and Bangladesh, are served by over 7,000 microfinance institutions around the world.
