Alcohol ethoxylates (AEs) are part of the alcohol alkoxylates class which also contains alcohol propoxylates and butoxylates. Alcohol ethoxylates are a class of nonionic surfactants that have a hydrophobic alkyl chain attached via an ether linkage to hydrophilic ethylene oxide (EO) chain.
