Due to their low heat output, LEDs are far more energy-efficient than their conventional counterparts since they need much less electricity to provide the same quantity of light. In contrast, around 80% of the energy in fluorescent lights and 90% in incandescent bulbs is converted to heat. As a result, the energy efficiency of LED lighting is between 40 and 60 percent higher than that of conventional lighting.
