General anesthesia drugs are used to put patient in a sleep-like state before a surgery or other medical procedure. A person does not feel pain because is completely unconscious. General anesthesia usually uses a combination of intravenous drugs and inhaled gasses (anesthetics). The primary objective of general anesthesia drugs is to induce analgesia, unconsciousness, and loss of reflexes of the autonomic nervous system.
