Funnel chest

Funnel chest is a chest deformity in which the sternum is pulled in, causing the ribs to flare out. It is most common in children and often goes away on its own. However, it can be treated with surgery or with a brace. The surgery involves shortening the sternum and may also involve moving the ribs back into place.
