The iconic Tropic Cay motel makes way for the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel & Private Residences Fort Lauderdale, set to open in 2018. During a media event, city officials and developers witnessed the demolition of the budget hotel to pave the way for the $200 million project. Designed by renowned architect Kobi Karp, also behind the Surf Club Four Seasons in Miami, this "crown jewel" promises to elevate the area with its premier architecture and design.
