From Hand-Painted Prints to Digital Arts – Story of Bollywood Posters

The first-ever poster was for the movie Kalyan Khajina (1924) which was hand hand-painted. Some Old Hindi Movie Posters took inspirations from Hollywood but were made unique with its artwork which responds to the cultural needs of that time. As India doesn’t have as much as literate people back then, Old Bollywood Movies used posters as their strategies to attract people into the theatres.
