In artificial settings, fresh water catchment & runoff are interrelated. Catchments are essential in areas with high infiltration rate. In natural conditions, catchments are complex and any event in one part of the catchment can impact other parts. In the past few years, big changes in catchments have been noticed. Many of the changes are because of human activities. Many natural landforms like small creeks and bushlands have been utilized for houses, roads, and other structures. It has great impacts on creeks and rivers.
