The trucking industry is preparing for a major shift. The FMCSA has confirmed that Motor Carrier (MC) numbers will be retired, with the phase-out taking effect on October 1, 2025. After this date, only the USDOT number will remain as the official identifier for motor carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders.
