Coral calcium is chemically, one of the bio-available forms of calcium which is composed mainly of calcium carbonate. It also has small amounts of magnesium and other trace minerals like chromium and selenium. Coral is a calcium salt derived from limestone deposits that were once parts of coral reefs or commonly referred to as fossilized coral. Living coral reefs are endangered and nearly all major reefs are protected by law as they cannot be harvested without damaging the ecosystem.
