Law as a profession and as a means of governance is very important for a democracy to function. India is the largest democracy in the world and by far the most diverse one, needs laws like no other. Modern India has seen a number of drastic changes in society, culture and governance over the years. As the economy opened up in the 1990s, it opened the door for what we call Corporate Law. More or less, this changed the face of law as a profession and the set of rules that govern the country. As India steps into the 21st century as a potential world power, a functioning regional power and the only solid Democracy in the world, the Evolution of law will most definitely take place over the next few decades. But how will this impact the existing structure, Law colleges and the overall unison of Law in India?
