On a jacquard loom, a decorative design is woven into the cloth, providing a slightly elevated ornamental area. These designs, which are usually composed of cotton, can range from simple flowers to extremely huge, complicated patterns. Any pattern that is woven directly into the fabric rather than embroidered, printed, or stamped on it is referred to as jacquard fabric.
