The fade haircut is a unique style that includes longer hair on the top which gradually tappers into a shorter length at the back and both sides of the head. The fade cut was originally seen in the US military during the 40s and 50s. It later got adopted by various black and hispanic barber shops. Some say the fade cut was first stylized by jazz musicians during the '60s. Later popular television actor Will Smith was telecasted rocking the fade cut on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.
