"Tires are essential for modern mobility but contribute to pollution. As they don't decompose, they end up in landfills, releasing harmful chemicals. Encouraging tire recycling is crucial. 'EPR for Waste Tyres' mandates tire manufacturers to responsibly dispose of used tires to protect the environment. The Hazardous and Other Wastes Amendment Rules, 2022, effective since July 21, 2022, introduce Schedule IX, guiding manufacturers, recyclers, and retreaders on proper tire management and promoting recycling."
