Epigenetic activation of Cdk5 increasing naturally in males, though not in females, after a mice removed a fear-related memory. Artificial activation of Cdk5 had no outcome in masculine mice, in that Cdk5 was already naturally increased, though reduced a strength of fear memories in womanlike mice, indicating sex differences in how fear is remembered.
