The in-app purchase model is so popular that it's become the norm in many gaming apps. The freemium model, which uses a combination of game downloads and in-app purchases, is common as well. A study done by app analytics firm Swrve found that there was an average of 835 in-app purchases made per person for a particular app over the course of six months. And, according to research from AppsFlyer, about 10% of iOS gamers make at least one in-app purchase every three months. In total, they spend $10 billion annually on in-app purchases alone.
