All commercialization efforts up until now have focused on heat pumps for heating, whereas there is also a great potential behind Domestic Hot Water Heat Pump (DHW) as a replacement system for conventional water heaters. Instead of directly generating heat, it pulls heat from the air around it and puts it in the water, drastically reducing energy use.
