Dietary Fibers are Also Known As Roughage

Sharvaricmi07 Dec, 2021News

Dietary fiber (also known as roughage in the United Kingdom) is the fraction of plant-based diet that is not entirely broken down by human digestive enzymes. Dietary fibers have a wide range of chemical compositions and may be classified in terms of solubility, viscosity, and fermentability, all of which influence how fiber are digested in the body. Soluble fiber and insoluble fiber are two types of dietary fiber found in plant foods such as legumes, whole grains and cereals, vegetables, fruits, and nuts and seeds. A diet high in fiber consumption on a regular basis is linked to improved health and a reduced risk of numerous illnesses.
