Prabodhini Ekadashi marks the end of Chaturmas, during which Lord Vishnu remains in a state of yoga nidra. And on this day, the Lord wakes up and resumes his duties. Shri Vishnu devotees and people belonging to the Vaishnava sect observe a one-day fast on the day of Ekadashi tithi i.e. on the eleventh day of the lunar fortnight. Interestingly, each Ekadashi has a specific name and significance.
