Dental implants are used to replace missing teeth. They are placed into the jawbone where they fuse with bone over time. This allows them to act like natural teeth. There are two types of dental implants: endosteal and ectosteal. Endosteal implants are placed inside the jawbone while ectosteal implants are placed outside the jawbone.
