Dehydration - Symptoms and Causes

Imchospital1223 May, 2024Health

When the body loses more fluids than it takes in, dehydration sets in, leaving the body depleted of the water and electrolytes needed for regular function. Vomiting, dehydration, or a high-temperature fever might all be the cause. Thirst, headaches, fatigue, disorientation, and, in severe situations, heatstroke are some of the symptoms. Elderly people and children are especially vulnerable to the dangers of dehydration. While elderly people may take medicines that enhance urine production and have less body water, children may get dehydrated as a result of severe diarrhea and vomiting. Drinking more fluids can help treat mild to moderate dehydration, but severe cases require immediate medical attention, including intravenous fluids. It's crucial to act fast to quench thirst in people who are susceptible and to keep them hydrated. Here you know more about that at IMC Hospital.
