In 1974, the Datsun 260Z was introduced as a replacement for the 240Z Further more Datsun 240z. The 260Z was different from its two-seat predecessor because of the larger engine displacement. It also had a longer wheelbase. The car's four-cylinder engine produced 140 horsepower and was mated to a three-speed manual transmission. In the U.S., however, the 260Z sold 228,661 units, or about 90 percent of the total production.
