Crawl space encapsulation involves installing a vapor barrier on the floor and walls of your crawl space. This barrier prevents moisture from entering the crawl space from the ground or the air. Vents in the foundation are also sealed to prevent outside air from circulating into the crawl space. This helps to keep the crawl space cool and dry. A dehumidifier may also be installed in the crawl space to remove any moisture that does get in.
