Cloud computing is the use of cloud-based services for storing, processing, and transmitting data. It refers to any on-demand computing environment that has a significant investment in infrastructure, such as data centers and networks. Cloud computing came about with some drawbacks of traditional computing. The two largest drawbacks were privacy and security. In the past, companies attempted to minimize the risk of identity theft by storing all their information in a centralized server that was kept in-house (on site).
