In recent years, the dentistry field has experienced a number of changes. Most notably, radiographic imaging has evolved from being a traditional two-dimensional technique to a three-dimensional modality. Cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) has been referred to as the standard bearer; a standard of care for the diagnosis of maxillofacial imaging. CBCT is a special kind of x-ray tool that is used for when regular facial or dentals x-rays are not sufficient enough. The technology is being used and leveraged upon to produce three-dimensional teeth images, nerve pathways, soft tissues, and bone in a single scan.
