California mandates solar power for new buildings

Cals0larinc410 Jan, 2023Business

The California Solar Mandate for New Buildings is a law that was enacted in 2015 by the California legislature. The mandate requires all new buildings constructed in California to have a maximum installed solar capacity of 50 kW. This represents an increase of 20% from the previous mandated level of 40 kW. The mandate will apply to both new and existing buildings, but it does not require retrofits of existing structures.
