Researchers reported a rare case of Calcinosis in Juvenile Dermatomyositis in the journal-New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM). Juvenile Dermatomyositis (JDM) is a rare childhood systemic autoimmune disease characterized by proximal muscle weakness and rashes caused by chronic muscle and skin inflammation of unknown etiology. Calcinosis is one of the major concern of JDM, and despite improvements in therapy, dystrophic calcification occurs in about one-third of patients.
