Aircraft maintenance engineering certainly sounds like another branch of engineering, but luckily, it is not. Now that we have an exciting and coveted career option before us, let us see what exactly it involves. First things first, it is very important to understand that an aircraft maintenance engineer is not an aircraft engineer. The latter is a branch of engineering commonly known as aerospace engineering and is a 4-year degree course. On the other hand, AME is a 3-year course, on completion of which you get a licence, not a degree.
