The breast is made up of a variety of tissues that range from highly fatty to quite dense. A network of lobes exists inside this tissue. Each lobe is made up of lobules, which are small tube-like structures that contain milk glands. Milk is transported from the lobes to the nipple by tiny ducts that link the glands, lobules, and lobes. The nipple is at the centre of the areola, which is the darker region surrounding the nipple.
