The brake caliper is one of the parts of the vehicle braking system. There are two types of car brakes. These are; drum brakes and disc brakes. The disc brakes are usually found on the front wheel of the vehicle. This is because of their ability to release braking heat as well as their effectiveness during the car braking process. Alternatively, the drum brakes are found in the rear wheels. Because they are not as effective as disc brakes during vehicle braking. In that, they accumulate braking heat and tend to be less effective at stopping the vehicle while at high speeds. However, you can use disc brakes both on the front and rear brakes. But its not possible to use the drum brakes for both the front and rear brakes. The function of the brake caliper is to push against the disc in order to slow down or stop the vehicle.
