Bone marrow plasma cells are the source of bone marrow malignancy, commonly referred to as multiple myeloma. These aberrant cells multiply uncontrolled, displacing healthy blood cells and weakening the immune system's capacity to combat diseases. Bone discomfort, weakness, exhaustion, and fracture susceptibility are among the symptoms. Imaging scans, bone marrow biopsies, and blood tests are frequently used in the diagnosis process. Chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and stem cell transplantation are available as treatment options. Although there is no cure for multiple myeloma, therapy advances have led to much better results, with many patients experiencing remission and extended survival. The goal of ongoing research is to create better treatments for bone marrow cancer.
