Vinoba Bhave initiated a socio-political movement in India in 1951, known as the Bhoodan Movement, which aimed to address the issue of landlessness in rural areas. Bhave, a disciple of Mahatma Gandhi who was chosen as the first individual Satyagrahi and actively participated in India's Freedom Struggle, recognized this as a significant problem in post-independence India.
