Baby shampoo
We used baby shampoo for years, and the dogs hated it just as much as they hated every other shampoo we tried. Got them clean, though. Then I discovered a different shampoo, made for dogs, used at a very high (low?) dilution--it runs like water. Cleans just as well, rinses easily, and cuts bath time in half.
