A paint technology course can be defined as a discipline where candidates study about the different ingredients like polymers, pigments, resin etc, that are used in creating paints. It involves having a clear understanding of the chemistry of the functions served by each ingredient that goes into the paint and the effect that it has on the final paint property. Candidates taking up this course also get to study about the different varieties of paints, their uses, their manufacturing and the different techniques used for paint application. The ones who graduate in this field are called paint technologists.
