An insight into liver cancer

As cancer develops in the liver, it essentially destroys the liver cells and interferes with the ability of the organ to perform as expected. Liver cancer is broadly classified as primary or secondary. Primary liver cancer tends to start in the cells of the liver. On the other hand, secondary liver cancer develops when cancer cells from another organ spread to the liver, or metastasize. Cancer cells may break away from the primary site or where the cancer began, unlike other cells of the body. The cells may travel to other areas of the body through the bloodstream or lymphatic system, and start to grow on other organs or tissues.
