American Airlines cancellation policy has changed and is more passenger-friendly now. You will no longer be charged a cancellation fee for domestic or international flights. You may only be required to pay the fare difference when changing flights (if your fare cannot be refunded). However, the cancellation fee waiver doesn't apply to Basic Economy tickets, which can only be cancelled within the 24-hour window or if they represent a travel waiver. You?re now allowed to cancel even non-refundable tickets without a cancellation fee?your refund are going to be within the type of a visit credit for future use.
