The butterfly knife, commonly known as balisong knife is considered as an excellent folded pocket knife. It consists of two handles attached at a pivot that open to expose a single blade. The handle nearest to the sharp edge side of the blade is called the bite handle and the other one is called a safe handle. At the end of the handle, you will find a free-swinging latch that keeps the handles at the lock preventing them from opening unless you want to.
