An access permit for St. James Station has been granted to Helicopter Hunting Tours NZ. Red deer, chamois, wild pigs, Canadian geese, ducks, and brown trout are just a few of the many wildlife species that may be found on this expansive piece of conservation property. A DOC hunting licence is necessary for all hunters on the Department of Conservation's territory, which includes St. James Station. A fishing license is required if you want to fish in the rivers and lakes. Mountain radio and/or personal locating beacons should be carried by everyone in the group (PLB).
