The month of May was established in 1927 as “Hearing and Speech Awareness Month” with the aim of informing and raising awareness of hearing and speech issues. Starting this year, May is established as “Speech, Language and Hearing Month” following suggestions from professionals in the field. The aim is to raise awareness of the public worldwide about communication disorders and the available solutions that can improve the quality of life of those who face speech, language and hearing problems.
