The Golden Age or Spanish Golden Age was a period of flourishing of the arts and literature in the Spain of the Habsburg dynasty or the Habsburgs. It is a period without defined dates, usually over a century despite its name, whose beginnings would be after the Spanish Reconquest, around 1492, and its ends around 1681, the year of the death of Pedro Calder?n de la Barca.
