The beginning of modern Olympic games took place in around the late 19th century, and the credit goes to Barron Pierre de Coubertin of France. After visiting the ancient Olympic site, Barron was very inspired to create a modern version of the Olympic games and revive the Olympic tradition. He founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which is responsible for organizing Olympic games till today.
