Botox is the brand name of a popular neurotoxin used by cosmetic injectors. It received FDA Approval in the late 1980s when it was discovered that Botox could effectively treat ailments such as blepharospasm (uncontrolled blinking) and strabismus (lazy eye). Cosmetic Injectors have been using Botox for years to successfully treat facial lines, forehead lines, smile lines, and crow�s feet. Injected Botox blocks the signals from the nerve to the muscles, thus preventing them from forcibly contracting and tightening. This causes facial lines and wrinkles to relax and soften.
