A Beginner's Guide to Alpaca Fiber Wool

Peru Unlimited Corp09 Feb, 2022Fashion

Alpacas are cute little furry friends that reside in the Andes of South America. Their coats are made up of two fibers: lanolin-free fine undercoat fibers that lie close to their skin, called 'Qullu' or 'wool,' and longer coarse guard hairs that protect them from heat, cold, and moisture. The wool is soft and warm, and the guard hairs are durable yet pliable. The coat comes in various colors from white to black, with browns, fawns, grey-greens, and multi-browns occurring most frequently. Visit the Peru Unlimited Corp article to know more.
