A baby's gut microbiota does not correspond to the mother's uterus microbiota.

Gutfoundation04 Nov, 2024Health

For many years, the general consensus has been that vaginal birth is healthier for the unborn child than cesarean delivery. Because it is believed that the newborn's gut microbiota is shaped by the germs it meets in the vaginal microbiome. According to new research, the gut microbiota of infants is significantly impacted by the way they are delivered, with caesarean section babies lacking vital microbes. Although many people hold this belief, a recent research that was published in Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology casts doubt on it.
