There are several bad habits that can negatively impact a child’s dental health. One of the most common is frequent snacking on sugary foods, which increases the risk of cavities. Sugar feeds bacteria in the mouth, producing acids that attack tooth enamel. Another harmful habit is thumb-sucking, which, if prolonged, can misalign teeth and affect the development of the jaw. Using teeth as tools is also a bad habit, as children may use their teeth to open bottles or tear packaging, leading to chips or cracks.
