On April 8, 2024, millions were enthralled by the Great North American Eclipse, also called the Total Solar Eclipse. North America was covered by the line of totality, which began in Mexico and travelled through the United States and eastern Canada. Major cities along the route were Mazatlán, Durango, Torreón, Saltillo, Monterrey, Austin, Dallas, Little Rock, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Buffalo, and Montreal. Numerous towns and organisations planned celebrations, observing parties, and scientific observations for the event along the route.
