For those who have followed my previous articles on domain names and the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (?UDRP? or the ?Policy?), you will be aware that the UDRP, established by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), is an extra-judicial procedure available to trademark owners to enforce claims against cybersquatters for abusive domain name registrations and use of trademark-based domain names internationally. It enables quick and effective recovery and transfer of abusive domain names to their rightful owner without resorting to expensive, lengthy and time-consuming litigation in the traditional courts.
