Diabetic Retinopathy: A Eye Condition Affecting People Who Have Diabetes

Sharvaricmi02 Nov, 2021News

Medication injections into the eye are intended to prevent the creation of aberrant blood vessels and may help reduce the progression of diabetic retinopathy. The aberrant blood vessels can leak blood and fluid into the retina, causing macular edoema, if the illness progresses. This leaking can be stopped with a laser therapy (photocoagulation). To try to plug the leaks, a laser beam of light generates tiny burns in parts of the retina with aberrant blood vessels.
