Electrician Tenambit is your family-run, locally owned team of licensed electricians serving this historic village on the eastern side of Maitland. Brick-veneer detached homes from the 1960s to 80s dominate the streets around Maize Street and Houston Avenue, with older fibro cottages near the original village and newer townhouse infill on the fringes. A lot of that 1960s-80s stock still carries original ceramic-fuse switchboards that predate modern circuit protection, and many older homes were built before RCD safety switches became mandatory, so they still lack them on all circuits. As these ageing houses take on more appliances and get renovated, switchboard upgrades and rewires to current standards become steady, necessary work. Sitting on sloping ground above the Hunter River floodplain, most streets stay dry, but hot inland summers and cold winter nights keep reverse-cycle systems busy year-round.
