Electrician Georgetown is a family-run, locally owned team of licensed electricians serving one of Newcastle's oldest suburbs, and every job comes with a $0 call-out fee and free quotes. We are Level 2 ASP accredited on the Ausgrid network under Lic #451348C, fully insured and AS/NZS 3000 compliant, which lets us handle service mains, metering, consumer mains upgrades and private pole work in-house rather than subcontracting it out. Alongside that Level 2 work we cover switchboard upgrades, safety switch installation, power points, LED downlights, ceiling fans, fault-finding, smoke alarms, house rewiring and EV chargers. Georgetown's compact streets grew from the 1850s as workers' cottages for the Goninans engineering and copper-smelting works, and many of those pre-war timber and brick homes around Moate Street and Young Street still run original ceramic-fuse switchboards from before modern circuit-breaker standards. Plenty predate RCD requirements and lack safety switches entirely, and the steady wave of cottage renovations across the suburb regularly exposes brittle old wiring that needs a full rewire.
